Here are seven good reasons I’m a registered Independent (and you should be too!): Interesting night last night– the GOP saw their candidates win the race for governor in Virginia and New Jersey, but saw the conservative candidate favored by Sarah Palin lose to Democrat Bill Owens. What does it all mean? Michael Steele says that the GOP has finally “regained its voice.“ Does this make Obama look bad? Of course the talk-radio crowd will think so… of course, if he hadn’t campaigned for the Olympics (and the jobs, publicity, and revenue that go along with them) he’d be labeled un-American, etc. Tough job, being President. Karl Marx would be proud! Congressman Barney Frank puts this moron in her place: Interesting article by Nicholas Kristof noting that as online news sources gain popularity over traditional media, people increasingly seek news and commentary reinforcing their previously held beliefs. Excerpt: Come on now– is anybody surprised that Iran’s President Ahmadinejad apparently rigged the vote and won the election? The only thing that surprised us was how pathetic the numbers actually were– we would have expected Ahmadinejad to at least make the falsified numbers plausible. But no. |
