MTV: Shrinking Brains Since 1981

What’s ‘G’? Grammatically Inept, For Starters…

Seen the new G2 commercial with Kevin Garnett and a random swimmer? It’s a perfectly fine commercial, until they reveal the tagline at the end:

Shepard Smith Brings Light To The Darkness (Sanity to FOXNews)

FOXNEWS anchor Shepard Smith on the hatred and rage he senses from certain right-wingers:

Smith has continued to be in the sane minority on the FOXNEWS network. The irony in his comments is that the “out there” email he read could be a verbatim quote from Sean Hannity. It’s also amusing seeing Limbaugh and his kind trying their best to blame this on the Democrats for “fostering hate”. Can’t we just accept that there are right-wing nuts out there, just as there are left-wing nuts? The fact that the Holocaust Museum shooter is an extreme right-winger does not reflect badly on sane conservatives.

Michael Steele Responds to Obama’s “Ribbing” at Correspondent’s Dinner

Now this is funny. If you didn’t see Obama’s performance at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner last weekend, you missed out. Watch his whole “speech” here.

This was one of the best parts:

Reason #436 You Can’t Take The GOP Seriously

Reason number 436 it’s hard to take the Republican party seriously right now. This is 14-year old Jonathan Krohn on Neil Cavuto’s FOXNews show:

FOXNEWS: 100 Days Of “Fair And Balanced”

As President Obama (or at least his supporters) celebrates his 100th day in office, FOXNews celebrates their 100th day of opposi, er, their 100th day of fair and balanced coverage:

“Regular” Flu Has Killed Thousands So Far THIS YEAR

Once again, everyone calm down. “Swine Flu” is not the end of the world. Not even close. CNN provides this important contextual information:

No Wonder Conservatives Are Confused

We just posted a link to the study that claims Conservatives think that Stephen Colbert’s show is NOT satire. It seemed unbelievable to us, but then we remembered this ad from last year:

Conservatives Think Stephen Colbert Is Serious?

If this is true, it’s 50% hilarious and 50% horrifying. According to this study, some Conservatives take Stephen Colbert quite seriously. From the abstract:

Additionally, there was no significant difference between the groups in thinking Colbert was funny, but conservatives were more likely to report that Colbert only pretends to be joking and genuinely meant what he said while liberals were more likely to report that Colbert used satire and was not serious when offering political statements. Conservatism also significantly predicted perceptions that Colbert disliked liberalism.

Now, before we jump to conclusions, this study needs to be evaluated.  We’re not statisticians by any stretch of the imagination, so we’ll leave the number crunching to others.  But seriously, you can’t take this guy at face value:

The Colbert Report Mon - Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c
Bill O’Reilly Inside Edition

Colbert Report Full Episodes Political Humor Gay Marriage Commercial

UPDATE: We realize that this is old, but it’s still funny:  Evidence that ACTUAL CONSERVATIVES don’t realize that Colbert’s show is parody.  Be sure to scroll down and read the comments even if you don’t read the whole article.
