N.Y. Governor Echoes Jon Stewart: Good Riddance, Rush Limbaugh
Rush Limbaugh recently announced that he was selling his apartment and leaving New York City due to Governor Paterson’s new “millionaire tax.” From the NY Times:
Mr. Limbaugh also had harsh words for Mr. Paterson, calling his tax increases “stupid,” and, according to The Huffington Post, saying they amounted to “punishing the achievers for the mistakes and the lack of discipline on the part of a bunch of corrupt politicians.”
Jon Stewart, for one, was not sorry to hear it:

Neither was Governor Paterson. NY Times again:
But while Mr. Limbaugh has been accepting apologies lately – Michael Steele, the Republican national chairman, drew much scorn from Democrats by recanting his description of Mr. Limbaugh as a mere “entertainer” who made incendiary and sometimes ugly remarks – Mr. Paterson said he was hardly sorry to see him go.
“If I knew that would be the result,” he said after a speech Thursday morning in Midtown, “I would’ve thought about the taxes earlier.”
The real question is will other well-to-do New Yorker’s follow Drama Queen Rush’s example and skip down to avoid extra taxes? Obviously Limbaugh and his “dittoheads” would have us believe that they will… we doubt it, but only time will tell.
Not surprised, what does NY have to offer to justify confiscatory taxes? Limbaugh can braodcast his program from anywhere. You can expect many more to leave. NY will regret what it has done.
